The Power of the Force... for only 41 cents!

USPS is going to be releasing official Star Wars licensed stamps. They're also having a vote where you can choose which of the stamps will be released on it's own sheet.

You can get a preview of all the stamps (they are pretty sweet), as well as vote for which one you like best, over at the USPS website.

****

Also, to promote the release of the stamps, the USPS is decorating mailboxes all across NY in the form of R2-D2. They look really freakin cool (my mission is to find one and take a pic with it. I actually would have considered stealing one, if it wasn't for the felony charge that would go along with it, lol).

You can check out a slideshow of some pics of one right here.

Full match-listing for WeddingMania!

Continuing my post from 2 weeks back: We have come up with the final card for our own personal Wrestlemania, which we have now dubbed: WeddingMania!

Some matches have some history to them (actually most have some kind of backstory), and some are just for our own amusement (well they ALL are, but you get what I mean).

So below are the list of matches. Feel free to speculate as to who should win, and how. Results will be posted soon. Enjoy!

****

1) Longest Standing Couple match (Regular Tag Team)
Alan & Beth vs Joe & Patty
****
2) Phil vs Ketrin- (special Guest Referee- Pete)
Special Stipulation: If Phil loses he has to propose!

****
3) Diva Bouquet Jello-wrestling Invitational*
Featuring: Ashley, Athena, Jessii, Kristen, Marisa, Maryann & Sheila (although not necessarily in that particular order).

[This match is an open-invitational match which starts off with 2 competitors. When one is eliminated (by pin or submission) the next diva enters and so forth until only one remains. Winner gets the bouquet. And as the name of the match states: we're laying down some tarp in the ring and this match takes place in a huge tub of jello (but not pineapple flavor). Joey D will serve as the referee].
****
4) Best-Man Battle Royal
Featuring: Henry, Joe V, Chaz, Greg, Jordan, Gaetano, Stevo, Goombah, Jay, Matt, and David

[An over-the-toprope battle royal (in which the match begins with all men already in the ring), where the only way to win is to eliminate your opponents by throwing them over the top-rope and having both their feet hit the floor until only one man remains. The winner earns the right to be the best man at my wedding].
****
5) Main Event:
John-Eric vs James in a Marriage Licence Ladder Match!

[The wedding licence will be hung from the ceiling of the arena and the competitors must beat their opponent down enough (and mind you, all weapons are legal: including tables and chairs) so they can set up and climb the ladder to retrieve the wedding license. That man is then declared the winner, to be wed to Ariana the following night on Raw].
****
God, I'm such a geek... lol

But please, post any responses/reactions you have. We'd love to hear them!

(Special thanks to James for suggestions for some of the matches/stipulations)

*If any of the ladies listed for the bouquet invitational would like to be removed (as we didn't really get permission from everyone), just let me know and I will do so.

The date is set!

On Monday, March 5th, Me and Ariana went to look at halls for the wedding reception. We had been recommended to a place called the Guiding Star: Knights of Columbus by a few people (including Marisa), so we went to the place and were very impressed by the package they offered. So we called up my Pastor to confirm the wedding date, and once that was set, we booked the reception hall right there.

So it's official! The wedding date is Saturday, October 6th at noon! Mark your calendars!! ;-)

End of February Wrap-up

On Sat. Feb 24th I had to get up early to go to a Violence Prevention Workshop at Lehman. It’s part of the requirements to graduate and get my certification to be a school counselor. After the workshop was over (and btw, it was a total waste of time), me and Ariana went down to the city to go see Children of Men at the AMC on 42nd street.

I had been wanting to see the movie for awhile, and it was no longer showing in the theaters in the Bronx or New Rochelle, so we took advantage of our free day to go see it. The movie was just as good as I had been hearing it was. The only downside was some dude in the front fell asleep about a half hour into the movie and was snoring like a freakin buzzsaw through most of the movie. It got so bad that at one point I had to yell out “could the person sitting next to the snorer, please tap him and wake him up!?!” A few people laughed, but I also got a few claps, b/c I obviously wasn’t the only one being really bothered by it.

But as I said, the movie itself was awesome. I can’t really talk much about it without ruining it, so all I can really say is go see it!

Following the movie, me & Ariana went for dinner at the Dallas BBQ right off St. Mark’s Place, and after that we went to Phil’s birthday party a few blocks away at Horus.

The place for Phil’s b-day had hookahs which many people took part of (but not me, cuz even though the smells were actually not bad, I’m not any kind of a smoker). There was also bellydancing at one point, which was amusing, b/c we got the girls to force Phil to dance with the bellydancer. And we got pics of it, so that was the icing on the cake.

We also took a bunch of amusing pics (people trying to blow smoke rings, as well as my personal favorites of the guys doing DX poses).

Then after the party, a bunch of us went to Jordan’s place and we wound up ordering Employee of the Month from OnDemand PPV.

****

The week itself was busy, but fairly uneventful (and which I’m sure you would all find boring).

****

The next weekend (Sat in specific), a group of us (Me, Ariana, Jordan, Maryann, Pete, Phil, Ketrin, Gaetano & Kristen) went to the Museum of Natural History to just look around and hangout. It was a good time, and it was nice to actually take our time to walk through the whole museum and read things, since the last time we went we were preoccupied with running around doing the scavenger hunt.

After the museum, we all headed down to Mars 2112 for dinner. And we were joined by Jeff & Susana. I had never been to the restaurant before, but it was cool. The atmosphere was amusing, but not as awesome as I was expecting. However, the food was actually a lot better than expected.

Once dinner was over, some people went home, while the rest of us wandered around looking for something to do, since none of us really wanted to head home yet. In the end, we didn’t really find anything interesting we could all agree on that wasn’t expensive, so we wound up going to Jordan’s place again, and we watched Little Miss Sunshine. So it turned out cool, b/c I hadn’t seen that movie before, and had been wanting to.

Of note, before we went to Jordan’s, Ketrin dropped me and Ariana at Ariana’s place real quick so she could change, and I could grab my car, and when we stopped at the apartment Ariana got the letter in the mail stating that she passed her comps, and will thus graduate from her master’s program this May! So it was very good news and we all had shots at Jordan's to celebrate her accomplishment.

More added to our "Wrestlemania"

Ok, so to add to what was presented in the last post, I was speaking with Henry & Joe V, and it was decided that a championship title belt will be made for the winner of the Best Man Battle Royal.

The kicker: whoever wins has to wear the belt all during my bachelor party.

We even joked about it being worn under the tux at the wedding, and Joe V went as far as suggesting it be worn INSTEAD of a cumberbund, but I think the bachelor party would be funny enough.

****

Also, another match has been added to the card!

Greg asked me what about the women having a match over the bouquet? (Since that usually breaks into a brawl anyways).

So I pulled our "Guy's hangout" main-event back out of the bag! We'll lay down some tarp, get a huge kiddie pool, fill it with Jello (not pineapple though, lol) and have us a huge jello-wrestling rumble between all the ladies! Winner gets the bouquet, and all the guys can die happy.

This is already shaping up to be the best wrestlemania ever! lol
