Spider-Man 3 Trailer

VENOM!! (Or at the very least- SYMBIOTE)!!

This preview looks awesome! I now can't wait for this movie.

I hope they don't take the video down on me. But just in case they do, the official link to it is here: http://www.apple.com/trailers/sony_pictures/spider-man_3/
The Chuck Norris Rap

Greg sent this to me. Pretty funny. Turn up the speakers (except if you are at work, then close this and listen to it at home, unless your boss is really cool).

A story so insane...

... that you couldn't even make it up.

The other day my boss, Mr. Martinez, told my co-workers and I, a story about his adventure in getting to the airport this past weekend. He prefaced it by telling us, that "you probably won't believe me, b/c it's so ridiculous, even I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't lived through it."

I relayed the story to my friend Chaz through IM right after Mr. Martinez told us, so I figured I might as well just copy and paste that convo here, b/c I'm too lazy to rewrite the whole thing again, lol.

SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:32:57 AM): dude, my boss just told us the craziest story!
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:33:12 AM): it was like something out of a movie, lol
Mrwhale Jr (12:33:12 AM): what?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:33:24 AM): on friday he was going to the airport
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:33:33 AM): he doesn't have a car, so he takes the train to the bus
Mrwhale Jr (12:33:37 AM): uh huh
Mrwhale Jr (12:33:48 AM): and they were filming a new Shotgun Saturday Night?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:33:59 AM): well, he had a flight at 2:30 and left at 12. b/c it only takes a half hour to get to the terminal
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:34:23 AM): well turns out there is an accident before the bridge so they are stuck in traffic while on the bus for over 2 hours
Mrwhale Jr (12:34:25 AM): iffy, but ok
Mrwhale Jr (12:34:35 AM): oh geez
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:34:54 AM): so mr. martinez is obviously gonna miss his flight, as are many of the passengers on the bus (cuz obviously they are all going to the airport)
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:35:02 AM): so u got a bus full of angry people
Mrwhale Jr (12:35:08 AM): oof
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:35:56 AM): well they get to an intersection and this car across from them tries to make a turn against the light, but can't so he is stuck in the middle of the intersection pretty much, just as the bus is about to make the same turn
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:36:05 AM): so the dude in the car is obviously in the wrong
Mrwhale Jr (12:36:19 AM): oh geez
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:36:30 AM): yet he starts honking and yelling and basically screaming for the BUS to back up to let him pass
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:36:41 AM): and the bus driver is basically like "screw u, YOU back up"
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:37:06 AM): cuz as i'm sure u know it's a lot easier to back up a car than a bus. plus the car was in the wrong anyways
Mrwhale Jr (12:37:15 AM): uh huh
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:37:18 AM): well guy in car refuses. and gets even more pissed
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:37:36 AM): so bus driver just puts the bus in park and closes the window, basically just waiting for the car to give in
Mrwhale Jr (12:37:50 AM): oh geez
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:37:55 AM): well dude in the car gets out of his car and starts banging on the glass of the bus
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:38:40 AM): bus driver then opens the door and dude from car runs around the bus, INTO the bus and him and the bus driver start BRAWLING in the front of the bus
Mrwhale Jr (12:38:50 AM): Holy crap
Mrwhale Jr (12:38:53 AM): ECW! ECW!
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:38:54 AM): in front of a packed bus
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:39:02 AM): who just were pissed and stuck in traffic for 2 hours
Mrwhale Jr (12:39:24 AM): Oh geez
Mrwhale Jr (12:39:36 AM): and then...
Mrwhale Jr (12:39:38 AM): ?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:39:41 AM): so at one point someone on the bus scremas "grab him!!"
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:39:59 AM): dude, must've heard this and ran off, got in his car, backed up and sped away
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:40:28 AM): there is more about mr. martinez trying to get a ticket, but i think the brawl was the highlight
Mrwhale Jr (12:40:37 AM): Geez sakes!!
Mrwhale Jr (12:40:38 AM): lol
Mrwhale Jr (12:40:51 AM): Dammit, so the guy got away with that?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:40:54 AM): cuz he was just like "i couldn't believe it happened!! it was like something u might see in a movie and be like "that wouldn't happen in real life"
Mrwhale Jr (12:40:55 AM): The one who ran off?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:41:03 AM): well someone got the license plate he said
Mrwhale Jr (12:41:18 AM): And there are a shitload of witnesses
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:41:22 AM): and car description, and obviously the bus driver will be able to describe him
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:41:46 AM): well yes and no, b/c i don't know how they;d call any witnesses, unless they gave the driver contact info
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:41:58 AM): but regardless, i think he has a good case, lol
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:42:03 AM): but yeah it's just crazy
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:42:10 AM): i wouldn't know what I'd do
Mrwhale Jr (12:42:21 AM): Yeah
Mrwhale Jr (12:42:25 AM): Frikkin Hell
Mrwhale Jr (12:42:32 AM): I *am* curious
Mrwhale Jr (12:42:36 AM): what did the airline do for him?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:42:50 AM): well actually that's another story in itself
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:42:51 AM): lol
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:43:02 AM): in the end, they got him a ticket for the next flight
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:43:33 AM): but it was a pain to get it b/c people were being stupid (even though there were 2 other people from the same bus also trying to get tix)
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:43:52 AM): they got it but only after supervisors OF supervisors were called in
Mrwhale Jr (12:44:07 AM): Eep
Mrwhale Jr (12:44:12 AM): What airline?
Mrwhale Jr (12:44:22 AM): I have a grudge against US Airways right now
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:44:30 AM): delta
Mrwhale Jr (12:44:39 AM): ahh
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:44:48 AM): and yeah US airways SUCKS dude
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:44:51 AM): i could have told u that
Mrwhale Jr (12:44:58 AM): Well, you didn't!
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:45:03 AM): jenny and her fiancee had crazy trouble with them
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:45:08 AM): on MULTIPLE occassions
Mrwhale Jr (12:45:22 AM): My first flight was delayed by several hours due to lack of crew
Mrwhale Jr (12:45:31 AM): and they lost my luggage and never apologized
Mrwhale Jr (12:45:45 AM): I wound up having to go to the airport the next day to get it
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:45:46 AM): same!
Mrwhale Jr (12:45:55 AM): her story's the same?
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:45:57 AM): that happened to jenny's fiancee!
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:46:02 AM): lost his luggage
Mrwhale Jr (12:46:06 AM): OoOOooOoOo
Mrwhale Jr (12:46:09 AM): BASTARDS
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:46:13 AM): and the delayed flight thing happened to jenny herself
Mrwhale Jr (12:46:28 AM): *festers*
SuperSaiyaJinDX (12:46:42 AM): so yeah dude, they notoriously suck

****

I realize the last quarter of that transcript really didn't have much to do with the story, but I left it in as a warning to anyone out there who might ever consider taking US Airways to go anywhere- Don't do it!

As for the fight, my boss explained it in a bit better detail. He said the guy from the car ran into the bus and punched the driver, so the driver got out of his seat and they were throwing punches at each other like crazy, hitting each other in the face a few times and everything. That must've been one hell of a sight. I have no idea what I would have done if I was on that bus (especially if I was sitting in the front). But yeah, that's the type of thing that can only happen in New York, and even then, it's hard to believe.

"I needs the PRECIOUS!!"

This comic strip (from Penny-arcade) cracked me up. I hope I don't get in any trouble posting it, but I just had to share, b/c I know a few people (my best friend and my sister's fiancee are just a couple) who have become severely addicted to the game- World of Warcraft. This is totally what they are like, lol.

Funny new commercial

Ariana and I saw this commercial on TV the other week (I forget what we were watching, I think it was a Yankee game) and I thought it was one of the most hysterical commercials ever (especially cuz I could so see people I know doing this).

It's for the new Fat Max Xtreme measuring tape from Stanley tools. Check it out.

A movie recomendation for you

So yeah, this past weekend, even before the ECW PPV, I went down to the city with Ariana, Greg & Henry to see a foreign action film called District B13.

I hadn't even heard of the movie until just about a week before we went to see it. Henry had sent out an e-mail inviting us, along with a review and some clips of the movie.

Well after seeing just two of the clips I was hooked (there were more on the site, but I didn't want all the cool scenes ruined, since I knew I wanted to see the whole movie).

District B13 is a French film, that was released in France about two years ago, but it's popularity brought it here to the States. Basically it's like a Jackie Chan movie on steriods. The two stars of the movie are insane with all their stunts (which they do themselves, no wire work here, just crazy athletic ability). One of the guys uses more of the "parkeur" style, while the other is a more offensive fighting style. Just check out the clips to see what I'm talking about (but I'd advise not to go past the first 2 clips if you really wanna see it, otherwise it just ruins things).

So yeah, the movie kicked much ass. Plot is ultra-simple, but the action is intense and makes for a very cool movie experience. With guys like the two leads out there, you kind of wonder why studios pay millions for fools like Tom Cruise to run around on blue screens and use camera tricks for sweet stunts?

****

There is one more thing I have to say about the movie though. Not really ABOUT the movie, but a joke made from it. During the credits of the movie, they play a hardcore rap song in French. But throughout the song, there is one dude just shouting "QUOI!" Which got Greg to jokingly refer to him as the French Lil Jon.

That alone had us cracking up and pulling out the typical Lil Jon catchphrases like "WHAT!?" "OK!" and "YEAH!" But then Ariana stepped it up a notch by impersonating a French Lil Jon shouting "OUI!"

And that got us all laughing hysterically. I don't know why, but we all thought it was the funniest thing ever. We were cracking up the entire way out of the theater. Our cheeks were hurting, we were laughing so hard.

At that point, Henry started joking about finding and doctoring a pic of Lil Jon by putting a beret on him with a word balloon that said "OUI!" on it, which got us laughing even more.

Well Henry actually went through with it and the next day in our inboxes he sent a link to download the song, as well as these:

It's just too funny... lol.

Thank the Lord!!!

I just had to come back for a really quick update. I got into the Counseling program at Lehman College!! WHOO!!

I was almost freaked out, b/c the envelope with the letter was pretty small. So I hesitantly opened it and was happily surprised to see the first words in the letter be "Congratulations on your acceptance..."

So yeah, I start in the fall! This is an incredible blessing, b/c Mercy College would have been really expensive. Not only that, but Lehman just has a better program and the school is a lot closer as well. So yeah, I'm beyond ecstatic at the moment. Just had to share!

ECW One Night Stand 2006

This past Sunday, me and Ariana went to the ECW- One Night Stand PPV that I had been looking forward to for the past two months. Like last year- it was at the Hammerstein Ballroom. We arrived early, but the line was still all the way down the city block. So as we passed all the hardcore ECW fans we saw all the signs, t-shirts and costumes they had. We definitely had some characters in the crowd (we had one dude near us who looked EXACTLY like Mick Foley- only the guy couldn't have been more than like 22 years old). Another funny character was this dude, who got off the line and had a buddy with a video camera. He began to cut a promo in the middle of the block while his buddy recorded it. I couldn't hear everything he was saying but it was still amusing, b/c it looked like he was trying out for WWE or something, but the guy was skinny and pretty nerdy looking, so obviously no one was going to take him seriously. So the crowd in line started to heckle the guy as he continued to shoot his promo. But then just as he was about to wrap up his promo (with the whole crowd chanting insults at him) he took off his ECW t-shirt to reveal a TNA shirt underneath! This got the crowd to go nuts and start cursing the guy out hardcore. It was pretty funny. That dude definitely had a lot of guts to pull that in front of an ECW crowd. Props to him.

So yeah, overall the crowd was great. Everyone was really excited for the show and just into everything that was happening (heck, they were going nuts before the show even began).

The best sign of the night (besides mine, but I'll get to that later), were these two dudes on the first balcony that had a HUGE sign that said "If Cena wins we RIOT!" They hung the sign up over the balcony as soon as they arrived (about 15 mins before the show began) and got the crowd really psyched. What made it even more funny though was there was a small boy (probably around 8-9 years old) on the opposite side of the balcony who was actually a Cena fan and brought a "CENA RULES!" sign with him. He also hung the sign on the balcony and this just drew the ire of everyone in his surrounding area. The whole audience started to curse the kid out and chant stuff at him. So I turned to Ariana all like "poor kid, he's probably turning to his dad right now like- 'Daddy, why do all these people hate me?" [I blame the father though, he should have raised his child with better sense, lol]

Before I continue, for those of you who are not into wrestling, I guess I should explain a few small things really quick. First off, ECW is VERY different than WWE. It's more violent and insane. Basically it's a more adult wrestling product (this ain't for kids). The main event was Rob Van Dam (RVD for short) versus the WWE Champion John Cena. Now you all know how much I dislike the Cena character (and have disliked him for years now). Well RVD is one of my favorite wrestlers, and is also the favorite wrestler of almost every big ECW fan (and even if he wasn't, just the fact he was representing ECW would get them to cheer him over Cena). So basically the ENTIRE arena was for RVD and VERY against Cena. And not just in a "Boo! Cena sucks!" kind of way. I'm talking, when those guys put the sign up in the arena that said they'd riot if Cena won... well, they really weren't kidding.

No joke, if the WWE was stupid enough to let Cena win, the whole entire arena would have stormed that ring and rioted. It would have been a truly scary thing.

But with the thoughts of a possible riot aside, the night was awesome, lol. We had great seats. We were on the floor bleachers towards the right of the entrance ramp, so we had a great view for the most part. I say only "for the most part" b/c the people in front of us (ALL the people) would keep standing during important parts of the matches and they would stay standing for a long time. Thus, forcing us to stand for long periods of time as well. And not only standing, but people would stand on their chairs too, which forced us to stand on our bleacher seats. So it was kind of annoying b/c we kept having to stand and sit. Ariana pointed out that if not for all the violence and profanity it was almost like a Catholic mass.

So yeah- as for the matches, all of them were pretty good for the most part. The matches were:
-Taz def. Jerry Lawler (in like 20 seconds with the tazzmission)
-Kurt Angle def. Randy Orton
-The FBI def. Super Crazy & Tajiri (Big Show came out afterwards and pummeled everyone involved in the match- at that point I actually got the crowd to laugh when Super Crazy missed a dive off the ropes toward Big Show and I shouted "How do you miss THAT!?!").
-Rey Mysterio and Sabu went to a No-Contest after an absolutely sick flying DDT onto a table on the outside knocked both guys out. So Mysterio retained the World Title.
-Mick Foley, Edge & Lita def. Terry Funk, Tommy Dreamer & Beulah in one of the most violent and bloody matches I've seen in my entire life when Edge speared the crap out of Beulah after dropping Dreamer with some barbed wire to the eyes and putting Terry Funk through a barb-wire covered board on the outside (did I mention there was fire involved too? Like I said, sick stuff).
-Balls Mahoney def. Masato Tanaka in what was actually a bit of a disappointing match considering the crazy display Tanaka put on last year against Mike Awesome.
-Rob Van Dam def. John Cena to win the WWE/ECW Title (trust me this post would be a lot different if I had lived through a riot, lol).

(Orton trying to escape an Ankle-lock from Kurt Angle)

(Tajiri & Super Crazy put the FBI in a compromising position)

(Terry Funk spinning a ladder around, knocking guys out)

The main event was great. The match itself probably wouldn't be rated above average at any other time, but with the intensity and hatred of the audience towards Cena- it was something I've never seen or experienced before in my life. The crowd wanted BLOOD and they let Cena know it. They booed him massively the second his entrance music began. And when Cena did his normal routine of taking off his shirt and throwing it into the crowd, the crowd threw the shirt back (four or five seperate times) until Cena just gave up. They then started chanting things at him all the way from "F*** You Cena!"; "Same Old Sh*t!"; and my personal favorite "You Can't Wrestle! ::clap, clap, clapclapclap::"

(Cena couldn't GIVE his shirt away in this crowd)

So of course, when RVD actually won the title, the crowd erupted in approval. And since the wrestlers knew how important this was to all the fans, RVD and the other ECW wrestlers came out and celebrated for a good 15-20 minutes all throughout the arena after the match was over.

(RVD and the other ECW wrestlers celebrating the title victory)

And finally, at the very end of the night I was able to get someone to take a pic of me & Ariana with the sign I made for the show, while standing in front of the ring.

So yeah, all in all it was a very awesome night.

People sure have some odd "cravings"

This past weekend me and Ariana went to White Castle and Ariana noticed on the bag for the food that White Castle is having a contest in celebration of it's 85th anniversary. It's called the 15th Anniversary Crave Time Cook Off contest, where you have to submit a recipe you made with a case of 10 white castle burgers (gross, huh?).

Well we found that amusing, so we started to guess as to what kinds of things people could make. Ariana jokingly stated you could make a white castle lasagna or a caserole. This got us wondering- "can we find the recipes people submitted online?" So we tried and actually found them on the White Castle website!!

The first one we saw was called the "Breakfast Surprise." And based on a glance at the ingredients, I'd wager that the surprise is dying of a heart attack a few hours after eating it.

Check out some of these ingredients:
12 White CastleĀ® hamburgers
7 to 8 slices English muffin toasting bread
1 lb. ham
1/2 to 3/4 cup sharp cheddar cheese, cubed
2 1/4 cups milk
3 eggs
1 stick butter (!!!)

It's actually pretty scary that people actually made this!! Check out the link above for the full recipe as well as other insane concoctions people came up with (and believe it or not there WERE entries for a lasagna and a caserole, which got us to laugh even harder).

After seeing the entries, you just gotta figure there are only two types of people making and actually eating these things- 300 pound fat asses who've given up hope, or skinny stoner kids, lol.

It's insane either way though.

For a Good Cause

This week Superman/Batman #26 came out in comic book stores.

Why do I mention this, considering I rarely mention comics here? Well b/c this is a special issue. It was written by Sam Loeb, the son of the famous comic writer, Jeph Loeb. Sam was 17 years old and died of cancer almost a year ago. But before he died, he plotted this issue of the comic. He didn't get to finish it, but 26 of the best comic writers and artists joined together to finish the book that Sam started. It's a really heartbreaking/heartwarming story. And DC Comics has decided to donate all profits from the sales of this issue to a college scholarship fund set up in Sam's name.

The full story, as well as a brief interview with Jeph Loeb can be found here.

You should all go out and buy a copy (or two).

Have you seen this kid??

If you've ever been to any kind of punk, alt-metal or emo show in NYC then you've probably seen the kid who comes dressed (and goes moshing and crowd-surfing) in a Winnie the Pooh costume. I myself have seen the dude at least ten times at shows, heh.

Well Stevo called me earlier today while he was at a newstand to let me know that the NY Post has actually written an article about him. I found that freakin hysterical so I've decided to share it with you all. You can see the article right here.

Catching up with the rest of May

I'd prefer to break up this longer blog (since I have a bunch of stuff to catch up on), but I'm feeling lazy. I'll put breakpoints in for different stuff though, in case any of you wanna skip ahead on anything I have here.

****

I FINALLY got around to watching Final Fantasy VII- Advent Children (I had it for the longest time but with all the DVR and stuff, I didn't have time to squeeze in a movie). It was pretty cool. It was a little confusing (as most hardcore anime movies are) but the graphics were amazing.

Then the following week I also got around to watching the Ultimate Avengers DVD. It wasn't as cool as the comic (b/c the comic makes Captain America an absolute badass), but it was decent.

****

We got to go to the Yankees vs Red Sox game on May 10th. It was my first NY-Boston game since the ALCS Game 7 in 2003 (the Aaron Boone homer one) and it was actually Ariana's first ever Yanks-Sox game. So we all had a blast. And the Yanks won this game 7-3, so we were psyched. Oh and I got hooked up with a free hot dog from one of my old co-workers, so that's always cool.

****

Spent a good amount of the rest of the week finishing up telling people about the engagement (since we were only telling between maybe 2-3 people a night). But I'm pretty sure all of our friends know by this point (if you're reading this post you DEFINITELY should know, lol).

We also announced our engagement at my church. Well actually we just went so we could tell people little by little, but my mom told my pastor to announce it in front of everybody- thus embarrassing me, but it was funny and in the end it saved us a good amount of time, lol

Afterwards, we treated both our families to Fuji Mountain Hibachi Restaurant for Mother's Day. The food there was great and our chef was one of the more amusing guys, which we all appreciated (especially since most of my family had never been to a Hibachi place before).

****

Oh, one other fairly big development- I got a new phone!

It's an LG8100 and I got a blue-tooth for it as well. It's pretty cool, it makes me feel like something out of Star Trek (or that villain in 24), lol.

I also went nuts downloading music for ringtones. I got real tones as well as midis. I finally got "Enter Sandman" by Metallica as one of my rings. I got cool wallpapers as well- Spidey, Evil Monkey from Family Guy, my SP character, Yankees, Naruto, etc.

So I'm pretty happy with that purchase.

****

Speaking of purchases:
I bought Suikoden V the other week. I don't know when I'll get around to playing it, but I have it, lol

-I found out about a sweet Foo Fighters Acoustic Show @ Beacon Theatre in Aug, and was able to score tix for me and Ariana.

-Then the next day I was able to get a few tix for Carlos Mencia also @ Beacon Theatre but that show isn't until Nov. I'll be going to that with Ariana, Christina, Sheila, Joe & Marisa. That should be a blast. I just wish it wasn't so far away.

****

I had my group interview for the counseling program at Lehman on the Saturday before last. I think it went well (at the very least they told us that it was good news we were even there, as that means we made it past the first round of reviews). The interview was long b/c it was broken up into three parts, but it didn't really feel like it.

The only annoying thing was that they told us we wouldn't hear a decision until the middle of June and I had already signed up for summer classes at Mercy College that start on June 5th. But I didn't want to give up my chance of attending Lehman, so I dropped the summer classes and if anything I will start Mercy in the fall if I wind up not getting into Lehman (although I'm really praying that I do get in)

****

Later that night we had dinner (a triple date basically) with Henry, Leah, Joe & Marisa. We went to New Roc and ate at Applebees and then went to see Over the Hedge. We saw the movie at 9:30pm and the theater was packed with kids. We got a little annoyed b/c the kids were loud and cranky. But kids shouldn't be out at a movie that late anyways. I think that's just bad parenting. People need to be more considerate of others. I think we all agreed after the movie that none of us would ever do that with our future kids.

****

-Finally got Hoobastank's new CD in the mail. It might take me a bit to get used to. It didn't hook me as fast as the other albums have. But I think it'll grow on me, there are at least a few songs I really liked off the bat, like "Inside of You", which I have on my myspace profile.

****

The new season of WWE Fantasy began last week. It's a 14 week one this time... it's gonna be nuts. But should be fun.

Speaking of wrestling, ECW is making it's full time return. I've mentioned already that I have tix to the One Night Stand II show coming up, but now they are also gonna have a show on the Sci-Fi Network as well as a house show schedule (where they will be coming back to the Westchester County Center). So I'm really psyched about that, it should be cool.

****

And this next part could probably be a post onto itself, but see my aforementioned comment about my laziness.

I had a busy weekend this past weekend. First off, I had an even longer, long weekend than most people b/c my job is awesome and gave us all the day off on Friday as well. Ariana took off from her job too, so we spent the day together. First we went and got her a DVR box of her own. So now, we can switch around whose houses we go to on the weekends, cuz all the stuff just
isn't at my house anymore..

Then we went to the Palisades Mall. We got up there around 2pm and bought 3 tix (for me, Ariana, and Joe Vozz) to see X-Men 3: The Last Stand later that night (showing was at 8:30pm). We wandered the mall pretty much the whole day. I got a bunch of stuff I know I don't need but was cool anyways- like 2 more Star Wars Transformers (got Boba Fett and Darth Maul) as well as a really kick ass Lego Batmobile. I'll prob have to wait til I'm married and have my own place to have a space to put that one, but i don't mind waiting.

Finally, time came for the movie. We headed early to the theater (well Ariana got there at 8pm while I was busy putting stuff we bought in the car, which was still a full half hour before the movie was supposed to start) but the theater wound up being jam packed! There weren't even two seats together, let alone three. Not even at the very front of the theater (which I wouldn't have sat in anyway, but still, just sayin). So we wound up returning our tix.

But then we had a decision to make. The next available showing at Palisades wasn't until 11:40pm, a full three hours away. But they had showings at New Roc a lot earlier that were available. So in the end we decided to go to New Roc and see if we could catch the 10:30 showing (and before you ask, no, going home and forgetting about the movie was NOT an option. I'm too big of a comic book geek for that, lol).

So we ordered the tix through Fandango (and a note to everyone, never do it by phone if u have a choice. Their system SUCKS!! It's so damn sensitive for some things and other things it doesn't understand no matter how clear u speak). But yeah we got there fairly early and were waiting inline. Thing is, they had us jammed into a corner, but didn't have the ropes to snake the people around. So the people who arrived earlier were towards the back, and the people who showed up later were jamming themselves in the front, which totally was not fair. So people started to have fits and it just became a huge mess. We spoke to the ushers and told them that to restore order they needed to put barriers in, but they didn't listen. So people nearly bumrushed into the theater when it opened. Luckily, Ariana is small and feisty and she was able to squeeze up ahead and make her way into the theater ahead of most people and save seats for me and Joe. Ahh, that's just another one of the many reasons I love that woman, heh.

-As for the movie itself, going into it, I was at best cautiously optimistic. I really wanted to like the movie, but from a few clips and previews I saw, I didn't know if I would like it as much as the previous two movies. Luckily, my fears were unfounded and the movie wound up being really cool. I won't give any spoilers but I think they did a very good job in giving the fans what they wanted by showing things like certain uses of powers, attacks, etc. And they even snuck in a hilarious reference to a fan-dubbed cartoon. The movie actually could have stood to be about 20 mins longer, but for what it had, it was pretty sweet. So yeah, overall I defintely give the movie a big two thumbs up- go see it!

The next day was Maryann's graduation party. We were supposed to have it at Central Park, but due to threats of rain they changed plans and had it at Jordan's house. I think that wound up working out well for everyone (as we got to add a BBQ to the mix). Lots of drinking ensued and I think everyone had a good time, heh.

And finally, I ran around a bit on Sunday (although nothing really big to report on here) and on Monday my Mom & Pat made a BBQ for my whole family. so that was cool.

And yeah I think I'm once again caught up. Now that the summer is rolling around I'll make a better effort to keep on top of this blog, so keep checking back!
